The inaugural session of the Haryana History Congress was held at the JVMGRR College, Charkhi Dadri on November 19-20, 2016, on the occasion of the Golden Jubilee of the Haryana.

The Chief Guest of the session was Major General (Dr.) Ranjit Singh, Vice Chancellor, Chaudhary Ranbir Singh University, Jind, and Guest of Honour of the session was Dr. S. K. Aruni, Member Secretary, Indian Council of Historical Research, New Delhi. The General President of the session was Prof. R. C. Thakran, Department of History, University of Delhi, Delhi, and the Ancient Sectional President was Prof. Amar Singh, Department of History & Archaeology, Central University of Haryana, Mahendergarh; the Medieval Sectional President was Prof. Ravinder Kumar Sharma formerly Department of History, Kurukshetra University, Kurukshetra, and the Modern Sectional President was Prof. Jaiveer Singh Dhankhar, Department of History and Archaeology, M.D. University, Rohtak.

The valedictory address was delivered by Prof. Lokesh Sekhawat former Vice-Chancellor J.N. Vyas University, Jodhpur and Guest of Honour was Sh. Jitender Bhardwaj, Registrar MDU, Rohtak. A special session on Jain Heritage of Haryana was conducted and the guest of this technical session was Sh. Nirmal Kumar Sethi, President of the Shri Bharatvarshiya Digamber Jain (Teerth Sanrakshini) Mahasabha, New Delhi. This session was attended by 104 distinguished scholars of history from all over the country. Thirty-four papers were presented at the conference.
