The 4th session of the Haryana History Congress in collaboration with the Department of History and Archaeology, Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, Haryana was held on November 11-12, 2019.
The Chief Guest of the Session was Prof. Rajbir Singh, Vice Chancellor, Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak, and the Guest of Honour was Prof. Nina Singh, Dean of Social Sciences of the same university. The General President of the 4th Session was Prof. Jaiveer Singh Dhankhar, Head, Department of History and Archaeology, Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak. The Ancient Sectional President was Dr. Garima Kaushik, Assistant Archaeologist, Chandigarh Circle, Archaeological Survey of India, Chandigarh, and her topic was “The Megaliths of Adi Badri”, the Medieval Sectional President was Dr. Subhash Parihar, Associate Professor (Retd.), Central University of Punjab, Bathinda (Punjab), and his topic was “Medieval Archaeology of Haryana”, and the Modern Sectional President was Prof. Sukhdev Singh Sohal, formerly Department of History, Guru Nanak Dev University, Amritsar (Punjab), and his topic was “Situating the Ambala Uprising of 1857: A Retrospective Appraisal”.
The valedictory address was delivered by Prof. K.S. Gupta, formerly Head, Department of History, Mohanlal Sukhadia University, Udaipur, and the Guest of Honour was Prof. Ram Sajan Pandey, Vice Chancellor, Baba Mastnath University, Asthal Bohar, Rohtak. Prof. R. C. Thakran, formerly Provost and Head, Department of History, University of Delhi, Delhi, and Prof. B. D. Yadav, formerly Head, Department of History, M. D. University, Rohtak were Special Guests of Honour of the session. The 4th session has received more than 100 abstracts and 60 papers were presented at the conference.
